Perfect for Non-Laborious Smoking

I gave away my old smoker and I replaced it with Masterbuilt GEN II Electric Digital Smokehouse. This is actually my second smokehouse electric smoker. My old smoker was also a Masterbuilt and I gave it to a dear friend of mine. I have come to trust this brand which is why I bought another one.

The Masterbuilt smokehouse and other similar electric smokers are designed for people like me – lazy when it comes to food preparation. But I really love to eat! Propane, charcoal, and all the other kinds of smokers out there sound good but they’re not for me. I don’t want to watch over a smoker all day. I prefer to set it up, load the wood chips, set the temperature/timer, put the meat in and just come back later when it’s all done. If you’re anything like me when it comes to cooking then get this smoker. It’ll save you a lot of trouble.

  • THE REAL SET IT AND FORGET IT SMOKER: With both Masterbuilt smoker units I have bought, I get the set it up and forget it convenience. The control panel is so easy to use. I can actually multi-task with it. The meat gets cooking in there while I get to do something else like watching the Superbowl or the World Series. I just wish this thing had a remote so I don’t have to get up to check on it every hour.
  • KEEPS A REALLY EVEN TEMPERATURE: This is one of the best things I like about my Masterbuilt electric smoker. If you set it at 200 degrees it will maintain the internal cooking temperature at 200 degrees. It also produces a consistent smoke too. But you have to check if you run out of wood chips from time to time. Not a big deal for me.
  • NO ASH TO DEAL WITH: The only thing I need to clean up with an electric smoker is the grease. If you use a charcoal smoker you will have to get rid of the ash too. Clean up is a breeze with the model 20070213. The drip deflector works great.

I have a couple of downsides to mention about this Masterbuilt smokehouse smoker. First off, the instructions that come with it are rubbish. If this is your first time to put together one of these smokers then you’re better off watching an instructional video online. The other downside is that the water pan/tray is a bit small. But you can easily reach it for a refill. All in all, the Masterbuilt  GEN II Electric Digital Smokehouse is definitely the smoker for lazy people.
