Almost the Perfect Electric Smoker

I must admit that the Bradley BTIS1 Original Fully Automatic 4-Rack Outdoor Food Smoker is the first electric smoker that I have seen to really smoke salmon. It did not only smoke fish, it smoked fish perfectly. Now that was impressive, which is why I ended up buying one for the family.

I have always been disappointed at electric smokers since they don’t reach 300 degrees Fahrenheit, which is perfect for fowl and other sorts of fish. It’s great that I have finally found a model that I can use to cook smoker recipes that I like. This was only one of the things that I really liked about this Bradley electric smoker.

Near Optimal Smoking/Cooking Heat

The optimal smoking temperature for me is around 300 degrees and higher. I find that turkeys and other fowl are smoked best when you reach that temperature level. Otherwise, your electric smoker recipes will end up as mush. I have also tried smoking Boston butt, and a nice selection of picnic shoulder on the side and they all have been smoked to perfection – what a joy to my heart. After doing that, I laid my good old charcoal smoker to rest.

Wood Chip Feeder

I was checking out how this thing fed wood chips and thought why didn’t all manufacturers include this feature in their products? I mean, this practically eliminates having to open and close the door every once in a while. You keep doing that and your standard electric smokers will lose heat rapidly. The chip feeder is also sold with other different flavors.

Cooks with Electric Heat

This is my wife’s department; she practically hates anything that close to a fire, which is why I ended up with all the grilling and barbecuing. The sliding knob is very easy to manipulate in case you want to maintain a certain temperature.

Downsides and Drawbacks

I have a few complaints about this Bradley smoker. First off is the price, I wish they sort of cut down on the price if that was a possibility. It would have been perfect if it was a few dollars cheaper.

Another thing is that I wish the makers of the Bradley BTIS1 included handles or wheels on this thing. That would have made moving it from one place to the other a lot easier. Note that these downsides have no bearing on the overall quality of the Bradley BTIS1 Original Fully Automatic 4-Rack Outdoor Food Smoker.
