Weber Food Smoker Review

More Value for Your Buck

In my opinion, if you’re looking for one of the greatest bullet smokers ever built then feast your eyes on the Weber 2820 Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker. It’s a pretty slick little cooking apparatus that looks good on the eyes and it works like a charm. If you’re looking for a product that is more reliable than an offset smoker then I will recommend this too, not just because it looks a lot better.

Weber Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker

Weber 2820 Smoker

I am truly impressed with the performance of this charcoal grill smoker. You can sometimes tell if you’re getting a quality product right out of the box. The manual that came with the package was easy enough to understand and the entire out of the box experience was pretty much acceptable. Well, in my opinion it would have been a lot better if the Smokey Mountain was delivered pre-assembled.

Other than the superb out of the box experience, the part where you do some actual cooking is another thing worthwhile about this smoker grill. I experimented with this thing cooking different smoker grills recipes. The good news – everything tasted and smelled as if they came out of a gourmet oven. Just remember to follow the instructions in the cookbook that comes with the unit.

Why I Bought the Weber 2820 Smoker

  • TOUGH HIGH QUALITY CONSTRUCTION: I actually inspected each part that came in the box before I actually assembled this smoker. The smoker reviews were spot on when they mentioned that the model 2820 is well-constructed.
  • KING OF TEMPERATURE CONTROL: One of the biggest advantages of this Weber smoker is its ability to maintain the smoking temperature that you need. With its superior construction, you can tell that all the flavors you’re smoking into the meat are locked in tight with nowhere else to go than into the meat fibers.
  • REASONABLY PRICED MASTERFUL COOKING TOOL: You’re not spending a thousand dollars on this charcoal smoker grill – that’s for sure. However, you’re getting something that is worth about that much. Given the rust proof design and quality of this unit you can tell that it provides more value for your money.

I know that I mentioned that the price of this charcoal smoker as a plus factor (which it is) but I think the makers of the Weber 2820 could have made the deal a lot sweeter if they cut down on the price just a little bit more.

Another complaint I have is the fact that the cover is not waterproof. Well, the lid and bowl are rust proof, which kind of helps too. In my opinion, the Weber 2820 Smokey Mountain Cooker/Smoker is a great smoker for its price – it even matches the quality of more expensive models.
