Smokeh Top Load Smoker Review

Great for Small to Medium Size Spaces

I have owned my Smokeh Big Chief Top Load Smoker for more than three years now. I get to enjoy smoky flavored meats right off the grill and it has been pure joy since. It’s not the greatest one I have seen since I saw my neighbor bring out his smoker and I must say that his was superior to mine. However, I guess this Smokehouse Big Chief is the right one for me.

You see, my place isn’t big enough to house a full size smoker. I just can’t dedicate a space big enough to fit one in without disturbing it every now and then. So I guess this unit is the right one for me given my current circumstances. Besides, this one already works well for me so I’m not really complaining.

I actually read some pretty good electric smoker reviews about this Big Chief model and I must say that I was really impressed. I got so impressed that I bought it! So, here I am three years later and still loving it.

Top Reasons Why I Recommend this Chief Smoker

  • MY TEAR BREAKING JERKY: I use my Smokehouse electric smoker to make my homemade beef jerky. I use my very own recipe with my own concocted secret sauce. All my friends love it since it has that unusual taste that they can’t put their finger on. I use around 10 pounds of lean beef and eventually end up making five pounds of jerky. This unit works really great when making my favorite jerky that it almost brings tears to my eyes.
  • IT LOVES SMOKED SALMON: This Smokehouse top load smoker can keep the temperature within the 170 to 250 degree range. In my experience that is just right if you want to smoke the best salmon in town. They come out flavorful and I can make my temperature adjustments depending on the current ambient temperature.
  • GREAT FOR SMALL TO MIDSIZE SPACES: My Big Chief measures 24.5” x 18” x 12” and I think it weighs just a little over a pound. Like I said earlier, it’s perfect for the space I have available. Needless to say, I also have a lot of other stuff at home and they can get in the way of my cooking. Given the weight and dimensions of this smoker, it’s really the right size and weight unit for me.

I must admit that this top load smoker works quite well for me. My only issue with it is the fact that the heating element gave out after two straight years of use. I guess it got worn out a lot faster because I use it frequently. Overall, my experience with the Smokeh Top Load Smoker has been very flavorful and enjoyable.
