Camp Chef Door Smoker Review

Great Value for Money

I learned smoking using an electric smoker. But I switched to a wonderful propane smoker for an even better experience. It wasn’t much of a big shift in price but it was a big leap in quality. Here’s my review of the Camp Chef Smoke Vault Propane Box HD Steel and Stainless Door Smoker. Switching to this propane tank smoker was an easy task. I also enjoy good temperature control with this one though it’s not really the same as an electric.

Excellent Qualities of this Smoker that I Truly Like

  • GOOD VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY: This propane smoker is well built. I actually went different home improvement stores to get an actual comparison. It’s actually more affordable compared to the smokers and grills that were sold locally. I also read different smoker reviews and most of them were generally positive. The food came out great Given the value you get for the price; I say this is actually a good buy.
  • FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I ordered my Camp Chef propane smoker on the Internet. And it took them three days to deliver this smoker. The people who I spoke to on the phone were really polite and helpful. Prompt and helpful professionals, that’s what I call customer service.
  • BUILT FOR INTENSE SMOKING SESSIONS: The Camp Chef 18” is built for heavy duty work. The large chip pan is indeed heavy and is really well-built. I tried smoking three whole chickens at the same time and they all came out great. I haven’t tried making jerky on this thing yet so I‘ll try that sometime later. It has enough room for different smoker recipes by just adjusting the removable racks.

  • Camp Chef Smoke Vault 18 Inch Smoker has a temperature range of 50 to 550 degrees Fahrenheit. Fairly easy to control the internal temperature with the help of the damper valves.
  • The Smoke Vault 18 will take a bit of time to assemble but it’s fairly easy. You don’t have to be technically inclined to get it done. The package comes with an instruction manual, which is easy enough to read and understand. The entire unit assembles in less than 1 hour.
  • This Camp Chef smoker comes with a recipe book. It has 2 adjustable racks plus a separate jerky rack, wood chip tray, and its very own water pan.

I really like this propane grill smoker and have used it regularly for more than a year now. I really don’t have any downsides I can report so far. However, the only thing that I can mention is the fact that it does not come with a propane tank.

I just bought my tank locally and it cost me roughly around $200. The tank stands beside the smoker since there isn’t enough clearance underneath for it to fit. Other than that minor issue, I think the Camp Chef Smoke Vault 18 Inch Smoker is the best smoker within its price range.
